So the warranty seal obviously has been broken then?

That sounds quite deceptive. Typical.

Hello, I am interrested in the Infocom "Lost treasures of Infocom" games. How much would the shipping be? I live in Tampa, Florida and could pick item up. Thanks.

Probably the original Escom warranty seal has been broken, the Amiga opened up, the CF card installed, the Amiga closed up, and finally an Amigakit warranty seal placed. I think that's what he means by warranty seal unbroken.

But yeah, it's impossible to install a CF card without breaking the original Escom/Commodore warranty seal.

How do you think warranty work is done?! Dealers can, quite legally, break, then replace the seal. This can include repair work and/or upgrades. It has been this way forever. Not just on the Amiga either - This is true of any platform.

Just to be clear. New Old Stock usually means something that was made a long time ago, but that just sat on a warehouse or store shelf, and was never used. The "never used" part is pretty important if you are to claim something is NOS. If they've been used then I would call them "like new" but not NOS.

Like those CD32s from China that show up on eBay.....they are 15 years old but boxed and factory new inside. Those are NOS. Is that the case with this Amiga stuff?

Not that I really care, because in the case of Amiga stuff, sometimes NOS stuff can be dead right out of the package because of battery or capacitory leakage.

I think the issue, if someones says NOS untouched and someone has been at it with a Torx or Screwdriver, its not "untouched", I could claim anything. I could easily get 400 Flat Pack Amiga Tech boxes, get 400 empty cases, slam in 400 scrapped together amiga boards and screw the up and flog them as NOS.

Ok this is the Amiga, not rehashing $150 worth of returned goods sold for a $1000 dollars as fleabay is full of or is it....untouched means nothing at the same time for some it means something.

The original poster said nothing about "untouched."

NOS from Amigakit with a warranty seal that may actually mean something (unlike the C= ones at this point) is definitely a selling point. Whether or not any warranty from Amigakit is transferrable is another issue.

I might start puting warranty stickers on old A1200s and sell them as "Warranty sticker untouched" items.

Quite Right the term "Untouched" wasn't used. I didn't Quote that was just my interpretation.

"brand new, never used, warranty seal not broken"

Its a fine line and in my book alone maybe I'm just my foolish lack of understanding of the sellers code of ethics, but for me if its "new"....you aint been in it, opened it, touched it with ones hands, nor have you sold it before to any punter, nor is it rehashed parts resold between between sellers. It came from the factory where it was made, stocked in/on its boxes/Pallet and sold to the buyer. The first opening of the packaging..in any way......

U open the box its second hand, you open the case, you change any parts, add any parts. No argument for me, its second hand not NOS.

I know Im a picky sod!

"512 MB upgrade, trapdoor card"

Is that a mistake. Should it be 512kB upgrade?

At that price I daresay it is a 512 KByte trapdoor adapter.
