The site has been upgraded to the latest available version. We still have to change a few things back around, but please comment if you see anything out of place or a change you think you'd like to see

I noticed one thing, some replies on some posts moved, not in the order they was.

I noticed one thing, some replies on some posts moved, not in the order they wasThat's weird. Care to elaborate? All news stories are in order of the story_id, descending. All forum posts should be similarly grouped by date.

odd, it must have been an error on my side... The error was on the "Amiga Anywhere : Sendo Z100 to ship with Amiga Anywhere" I replied to a post by 4play which was the second post there, i checked back a while after, and the post by 4play had moved to pretty much bottom while my post had moved up.
But i checked back now and it looks ok, so it must have been my browser that fuc**ed up :-)

hmmm before clicking on a link within a forum or a news thread would open up a new browser window, now it doesnt.
I prefered the old way :)

Posts are now sorted backwards ("Newest first") by default. Is this to make more people register an account so they can make some sane settings themselves? ;-)
(Edit: I'm 100% sure I chose to disable smileys, yet I see a GIF abomination in this post!?)

Thanks for the feedback. The post order should be back to Oldest First.
In regards to the disable smileys, that's apparently still a bug.

Wayne, when does the "login" expire? Often I find that I'm still logged in on the next session. At times I have found that I am "an anonymous user" on the front page, but I can still reply to threads [I haven't seen that happen yet with this new version].

Its bombing me out from time to time - when I post it sometimes logs me out?
And When I edit a post, cos I have fat finger syndrome - it no longer says post edited at etc...

It was set by default to log out every 4500 seconds. I have somewhat increased it, but let's see if that helps.

I only niggles I have, but it's no big deal, is the 'taking you back where you were' doesn't actually do that.
Login expiry, is this a cookie thing?
I wish it would leave be logged in all the time, because if you're replying to a post, you have to go back to the main index, then start again.
I guess I need to get into a routine of logging in first!
It's just not flaming good enough - lol !!

Login expiry, is this a cookie thing? Sessions thing.
I wish it would leave be logged in all the time, I will no longer run a system where the user stays logged in permanently, as it's one of the things which lead to the hacking late last year. Understand that this system is no different than a network. Any network admin who'd allow unlimited idle time is an idiot.
