It's 1982. Small computer games companies are springing up in the bedrooms around the world. A new business beckons, where everything is in your hands. You have total control, from creating the original concept, through hiring staff and packaging design, to the development of massive marketing campaigns. Do you have the skills to create and use new technologies and become a Software Tycoon?

Update: There is an interview about this game at http://www.gfxbase.com/

Software Tycoon immerses the player through the implementation of different scenarios, tutorials and a truly satirical backround that simulates the software business. But don't forget your opponents will stop at nothing to ruin your business!

- Real-time gameplay.
- Two intelligent and unusual computer controlled opponents.
- Satiric simulation of the software business.
- Interact with real living and acting characters.
- Multiple missions and tutorial scenarios.
- Adventure-like inventory.
- Hi-Res graphics and videos in 800x600 dpi.
- Employ the best staff and implement massive marketing campaigns for your products.
- Sabotage your ruthless opponents.
- Different buildings in horizontal scrolling Location.
- Easy development of original game concepts

Sounds original. Well, i never played railroad tycoon, so it sounds original to me :).

Interesting, i wonder if this kinda of game could take off...?

Not that original. I remember a game on the Spectrum called Software House, probably written by one of the very "software tycoons" we're trying to be in the came. It wasn't very good, though - it was all text-based!

I want to have! Gimme gimme! This rocks. There is no mention of any specs about what machine you need. Anyone?

This game is really worth while to buy!

On the site it says the following about the game..

Sabotage your ruthless opponents.

Well, I think Bill Gates would love this game.

Hi-Res graphics and videos in 800x600 dpi.
Yikes that much. On my 15.1" that'll be like 6900*3900 resolution. Hope it's not in 3D...
:-D :-D :-D

Well I for one will not be parting any money for an un-heard of title.

Anyone remember Detroit? After a few hours play, you lost the will to live.

Not knocking the game but, until I see some screenshots, a playable demo or a review, I am not parting with cash again.

I remember buying the Amiga conversion of Street Racer by Guildhall. Ouch! Never was £15(ukp) wasted on so much pooh!

Good luck to Software Tycoon, The game idea sounds promising, but I await more information first.

is it just me or is Coder the most enthousiastic member of Amiga.org....from the looks of today's postings he sounds ready to grab his member! - lol :-D

Just jesting Coder!

Game sounds alright though, but it's just another "Sim" clone...
