if i remember correcyly...
Escom 1200s had the nice budgie chip and were really just warehouse parts put together...
There were some that had a redesigned floppy disk controller ( you could hack them to read high density pc drives ).
As for the MoBo`s they were the same...
BTW i have one! version 4D , and there has ben no problems with timing etc... :-D

Do you know any other versions that are running without problems? Whatīs the part that is causing crashes? Floppy drive?
Where can I check the version of A1200?

AFAIK, on the Escom built Amigas, they used different floppy mechanisms, which sometimes caused problems. A fix/hack for this is on Aminet.
The version number is printed on the motherboard next to the expansion connector.
