Don't count on it. The A1000 is highly collectable and could probably fetch more than an A500 or even a basic A2000 for that reason alone.

They go for a small fortune when they appear on ebay. I recently saw a Commodore 1581 diskdrive in excess of a £100

100P? That's too much, but the 1581 will always fetch alot because it's semi rare and coveted.

As for the A1000, hard to say. Occassionally eBay will get flooded with A1000s and they don't sell at all. Other times you'll see one pretty basic fetching a few hundred.

Earlier in the year I saw a loaded, advertised
near - mint condition A1000 on E-Bay that sold
for under 50$...with a mint A1000 style 1084.
I wouldn't pay more than that, and it would have
to be clean.

Free is always the desirable option, though. :-)

It depends where you buying it, in the USA they seem realy cheap. I guess they where quite popular over there.

In the UK they are quite rare and expensive, i've seen them selling at about £100ish.

LOL, well, I just got a couple thrown in for free from someone who had about 30 of them. That brings me up to 3 1000's.

You would not want to get rid of one of them, would you?

Well, the 2 I just got don't have keyboards or the front plastic plate covering the RAM expansion, so I only have 1 1000 that's good to go, that's my baby. <G> Still looking for that elusive A600 though.

If anyone in Sweden wants to get rid of his or hers A1000, then you know who to tell. ME! ME! ME! MEEE!

(but that goes for A500's, A600's and _original_ A4000's too...)

Well I could probobly come up with a keyboard, mouse, and cover if your interested in letting them go cheap. As long as the machine itself is good condition.

This person with thirty, do they want to get rid of any more?

He probably would. When I talked to him he was contemplating throwing them in the trash cause he didn't think it was worth the effort to put them up for sale and ship them out. I'll ask him.
