hi!!!

There is an amiga lightwave -dongle- (w/o software)for sale on ebay. Will this work with the disks for lightwave 3.5 which came with the amiga video toaster? Will it need a serial number to be entered to make it work?
Pls help!!!

I'm pretty sure that dongle is the same one I have for a version 3.5 of LW and if you have the dongle why would they want a serial number...sort of overkill.

If I remember, no, there's no serial #.

How much is the dongle going for?

I mean it can't be that much these days for 3.5.

Hi:

well there is just bidding on it...and the bids start at $ 0.9 and the current bid is at like us$ 2.00 so it prob will not cost much. Thank you!!!

If you own a legal copy of LightWave, will NewTek supply a new dongle? If not, see exemption number 3 at http://www.copyright.gov/1201/ and start looking for a "patch."

The first page of the registration process at newtek.com requires a serial number.

However, I would certainly call NewTek customer service at 800-862-7837. They have always been very very good to work with.

Best of luck. Lightwave on the Amiga was a blast!

Lightwave version 3.5?!

I've got (a legal Amiga) version 5.0 in the box with the 2 manuals! I'm looking for a LW dongle, 'cause all I've got otherwise is a Toaster in an A2000.

Does anyone know for sure if that LW dongle will work on LW ver. 5.0? :-?

It's probably being sold by the guy that auctioned the standalone version of Lightwave to me WITHOUT the required dongle, and is now making more money by auctioning the dongle alone. :madashell:

Does anyone know if the dongle will allow installation of versions of Lightwave past 3.5, such as 4.0 and 5.0, the last Amiga version of LightWave?
