CD32 Blues

I bought a CD32 without a power Supply (yeah that was me). I put together an AT Power supply and fired it up. Intro screen, Intro music, but the CD Drive, No. 1, can not get any traction so it has a hard time turning the CD and 2, when I can get it to start moving it spins a couple of times and then stops. So anyone know what this issue is? Or how do I see if the laser is working? Is there some hitch to getting the drive working. Does anyone know a good CD32 repairman?

Hi,
open it, find the yellow or blue knob on the Laser up to he can detect your disc.
It's a "standard" sony KSS21x laser beam pickup (20 Euros)... So any non laser repair shop can change it.
