Hmmm... Non Amiga Q ... But the Mac Forum is soooooo unfriendly and you never get an answer. My Tip who will respond first -> Motorolin :-)

I have an Airport Extreme Card sitting in my iBook G3, with OSX 10.4.

I've tried to install it on my iMac G4 1GHZ (LampModell) ... The little stick fits in my iMac, but the Card is a little to big... But anyway. I got it there *LOL* ...

But - My iMac didnt recognize that I had inserted the card.. ?!?

Is it because that card doesnt work on my iMac G4 or what is wrong ? It works fine fine in my iBook G3.

I have a second problem... Thats with my ibook. When I open the screen more than 10-12 cm, it turns black. Tha computer is still on, but the display goes black. I can still see a little .... What can I do ? It works fine as long as I dont open the monitor completly...

The problem with your iBook is a common one. It happened to mine from time to time. The cable which connects the screen to the motherboard gets crimped by the hinge and gets damaged.

As for your airport problem, no idea! But have you tried posting at the macosxhints forums? They are very friendly there.

DAMN! Moto beat me to it. It's a common problem with *ALL* laptops.

@TheMud
Have you looked at this document for your AirPort problems?

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=26237

No mention of a requirement to install any software or drivers, so maybe you installed the hardware incorrectly.

In the slot under your mac you only have to insert the antenna. The extra adapter is for older Airport Cards. Removed it, installed the software, entered my account settings and swupti... Online :-D

I didn't think you could use an Airport Extreme card in an iBook G3.

You're right, you can't. It's just the basic 11Mbps Airport card. Extreme's came in G4s.
