View Full Version : Switching off CGX output when using native modes

Is there a way to "kill" the CGX output of the CVPPC when the OS switches to a native video mode?
I'm seeing if I can get the CV64/3D scandoubler to work with the CVPPC, but when the OS switches to a native screenmode the CGX screen freezes and remains visible.
Any ideas?

I think there's a tooltype or an env variable which tells it whether or not to keep non-visible screens in memory for fast switching. If you turn that off then it might unload the CGX screen from memory and blank the display. Not sure though.

or you can use a patched cgx4 library to control pin13 of the parallel port, so with a transistor u can automatically open/close it...
here is the Multimedia & design monitor switcher that can be controlled in such a way. http://www.mmd-shop.de/m-switch.htm
with this, I have a full auto-switching grex/aga display.
info on the patch is here: http://people.freenet.de/CHRAmiga.de/Monswit.html

I've got an idea of how to solve this involving sync signals, a single transistor and a small vero board.
I think I need to think about it for a bit before reaching for the sodlering iron, as I should have been asleep 3 hours ago.
