Hi All,

I've just got myself an original Amiga 1000 Phoenix board, which works fine. I'd like to install a Zorro II type card into the onboard Zorro II slot. I'm thinking an accelerator/RAM card at this stage. The problem is that the height of the original A1000 case won't allow a full height card standing upright. So, I figured, I should be able to adapt the onboard Zorro II slot at 90 degrees, so I can fit a card 'lying down' in the A1000 case. I have a spare Amiga 4000 riser card which I'd like to adapt for this purpose. Given that Zorro II cards work in Zorro III slots, I figured using this riser card may be highly possible, with little to no modification. My question is - Will the riser card plug straight in, without modification, and allow me to use ONE or MORE Zorro II cards in it? If not, is it possible to modify the riser card to work, and what modifications do I need to do to the riser card?

All info would be appreciated...but if I need to research myself I will - just thought it may be easier to ask for someone knowledgeable first...

I personally would not use the A4000 riser board on your machine, there are likely bus termination issues. I thought I saw Amigakit selling a right angle zorro II adapter once; that might be a better option or just make your own using some wire wrap.

Here is the direct link to the Zorro right angled adapter:

An A4000 daughter board includes Zorro bus AND a video slot - it will not fit into a Zorro II slot.

A2000 accelerator boards plug into the CPU local slot, not Z2.
