Hi

I have an A4000d with my new 3640 and PicassoIV. I tried
today to use an Oktagon 2008 with 8MB RAM but no hard drive on the card. Trouble is the computer will not boot with the card in. I can boot from the Workbench disk and SysInfo finds the card and the 8MB RAM. I can`t find any jumper on the card that would suggest some boot priority.

Any ideas

Just close the jumper #1 in the oktagon board! It disables the SCSI controller.....

Then you be able to boot from your HD. In a cli window, type "version oktagon.device". If the result is less than 6.10 (better if is 6.12), you'll got a problem: the ROM version have some illegal instrutions for a 040/060 CPUs.

And that could be the cause of the boot lockouts and missbehaving.

I dunno where in the world you can find an updated ROM for this board, sorry.

Actually you could just remove the ROM chip from the Oktagon board and the Amiga should boot fine.

Does anyone know what the default password is for the oktagons login software?
I dont really want to activate it and screw the card up by password protecting it without having a clue what the password is. :-)
