I have found why my A4000 will not behave OK with the BuddhaFlash installed...
it is CyberGraphX v4 ... the minute it is installed (even did the last 42.6 update) the only way amiga will output video is to remove cybervision64 from the zorro bus... else I only get a blank screen, all I can see is that the 2nd setpatch reboot is done, but a wb screen does not open up...
anyone faced anything similar ?
quick specs are: buster rev 11, mk2/060, ariadne and an arxon scandoubler...
thanx for reading! :-D :-D :-D

ps. using p96 is out of the question because:
a. I don't like it
b. I don't legally own it, I own cgx4...

noone ever had a similar prob?
could it be that cgx generates some interupts or something that conflict with buddha? or the cv64 uses some address space and when cgx wakes it up it conflicts? is there a way to check?

Is there a Zorro II / Zorro III jumper on the cv64? I am almost sure it is autosensing but I am not sure.

Hey Alexh! no, the cv64 is a zorroIII only card... it has these jumpers however (taken from BBOAH)

JP1 Buster Mode, Open = Rev 11, Closed = Rev 7 & 9
JP2 Reserved, Default = Open
JP3 Output Termination, Default = Open
JP4 Input Termination, Defauly = Closed
JP5 Reserved

I read this in the manual:

It is not possible to operate the CYBERVISION64/3D with accelerated processor cards, if the motherboard is operated with any other than the original frequency of 25MHz. Overclocking the Busterchip causes the Zorro3 bus to malfunction.
I believe this means you cannot use an overclocked accelerator card that uses the EXT CLK jumper position on the A4000 motherboard. The limits will be a 50MHz 060 or 25MHz 040

but I don't have the 64/3D model, I have the original plain Cybervision64 , THIS (http://amigahardware.mariomisic.de/cgi-bin/showhardware_en.cgi?HARDID=463) one...

edit: I also forgot to mention that the MK2 needs the mobo jumpers to INT , so it does not overclock anything...

And if you use Picasso96 ??? :-?

just a thought Keropi could it be related to the monitor switcher on the cyber conflicting with the ide card? can you disable this on the graphics card and perhaps use a software solution just a thought mate.
cheers

hey effy! where are u lost? no , p96 is out of the question , for various reasons, one of them being it sucks for the cv64.

@bigmac: I thought about that, and I connected the monitor directly to the scandoubler, no image there, as far as I can see the screen is a very deep and black purple color, almost looks like black... and the cv64 outputs that...
I even removed the cv64, booted and saved the AGA 640x512 mode ... I then re-installed the cv64 but still nothing...

I would rather change the buddha, than use p96 over cgx...

@ keropi,

Could be problem with your 68040/060 library, i had this similar problem long time ago after installing BB2.
The solution was install the newest 68060 library (v46.5 i thought)
Also be sure you have the last Cgx updates.

" would rather change the buddha, than use p96 over cgx..."

if you say so!

Anyway this could be useful to avoid mixes beetween P96 and CGX: (don't remember where i got it)

Removing these files and directories will remove both CyberGraphX and Picasso96:
ENVARC:CyberGraphX
ENVARC:cybergraphics
ENVARC:Picasso96
ENVARC:Sys/screenmode.prefs
SYS:Prefs/Presets/monitors
LIBS:cgxsystem.library
LIBS:cgxvideo.library
LIBS:cgxbootpic.library
LIBS:cybergraphics.library
LIBS:cyberintuition.library
LIBS:cyberlayers.library
LIBS:vilintuisup.library
LIBS:Picasso96
SYS:Prefs/CGXMode
SYS:Prefs/CGXMode.info
SYS:Prefs/CyberGraphX
SYS:Prefs/CyberGraphX.info
SYS:Prefs/Picasso96Mode
SYS:Prefs/Picasso96Mode.info
SYS:Prefs/PVS
SYS:Prefs/PVS.info

Not all files/directories will exist in your system, but just keep going through the list from start to end.

in fact I have 68060.library v46.15 , I replaced it with 46.7 but it did nothing... still no screen with buddha on the zorro bus together with cv64...

after contacting Individual Computers and do some stuff Jens recommended, it seems that maybe my buddha is faulty , talking about bad luck!

Curious. I wonder if this is my problem, as discussed in this thread...

http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=26017

I have a CyberVision 64/3D card using the same software as you, and I was thinking my 4000 wouldn't boot with the graphics card and the Buddha installed at the same time. But perhaps I was booting with a blank screen.

yeah, strange stuff....
seems like there is something in cgx4 and 3.9 combo that conflicts with the buddha...
either way I removed it now , and ordered a kickflash , single reboot 3.9 and clockport for the subway
I also use a kickflash+subway on my cgx4-g-rex4000D-csppc amiga, so I know it works fine! :-D :-D :-D :-D
