-I have BSC ATBus2008 IDE controller sitting on ZII slot of A2000. Controller has its own ROM and does autoboot.
-120Mb IDE HDD connected as master
-8x MITSUMI IDE CDROM connected as slave

Machine boots OK. SysInfo says ATBus2008 uses OKTAGON.DEVICE, I belive that comes from controller ROM. I have run HDInstTools from original BSC floppy disk, run scan but have not found nothing except HDD.

I thought that Amiga should detect CDROM on bus before continuing to mount CDFS. Read somewhere that BABELCDFS is only one for KS 1.3

Is there any success story or its just impossible to mount non-SCSI CDROM under OS 1.3 ?

P.S.
Upgrading KS or OS is no joy :-D

You might have better success using the replacement oktapussy driver from Aminet.
Except babelcdfs also xetec system and the very first revisions of amicdfs should work.

Oktapussy looks more promising...will try it ASAP.
Thnx for help.

As it should. Most HD tools choke when finding CD drives. Even the latest HDToolBox barely knows what to do with them.

I don't think so. Just set the mountlist to use oktagon.device and whatever unit the CD drive is set to. It should either work or not work :-)

EDIT: This is assuming you're using BabelCDFS. The instructions are nicely straightforward.
