Hi -

My stock A1200 power supply brick died. I borrowed
a friends and my A1200 itself is still just fine.

What is the best replacement power supply, or can I
just solder this plug onto a regular PeeCee power supply?
Any tips or wiring diagrams available?

Yes use a good old PC AT PSU, especially if you have an Hdd + accelerator.
Schematics are on Aminet :-D

I used a mini-ITX laptop PSU adapter in an A600 project - looks very neat, and was pretty easy to do...

For my 1200, I used an OLD 300w PC PSU (included with an OLD AT style Big Tower)... Works like a charm, and enough power for anything (three HD's, a DVD, Floppy, and expansion cards)...

oh, yeah, like mentioned before, the wiring diagram can be found on Aminet, or the way I had done it, I cross compared the power leads from the HardwareBook (www.hardwarebook.net)...

back when i had my 1200 my brick died too, i wired up an pc at supply but didnt like it, then i wired up an atx one, that wasn't too good either. unless you build a box for it and have good switches it sucks. an old a500 brick is the best replacement for an unexpanded or even medium expanded 1200, thats what i finally did. i got one off ebay for 10 bucks.

You can buy a Mini-ATX power supply.

These babies are so small, that you can adapt their PCB inside the original A1200 PSU case !

I did that for my custom A1200 Black, and it's just perfect. Enough power to everything (i have a 040 inside my A1200 Desktop, and 40GB 2.5"HD and notebook CD-Rom as well).

Unfortunately i haven't a digital camera to take some pics of my baby :-( (i know . . . i must be the only guy that doesn't have a digital camera these days . . .)

Regards,
Marcelo.

Cool A600, but where are the pics of the completed project? I dont see it fully assembled...where can I get an internal PSU like that? I want one!!!!
