Hello
Several years ago, I read about working Airplane model with Axial Flow Fan / Squirel Cage fan in the front of its wing, instead of ordinary propeller fan. What happen to this technology?
Is there any manned airplane based on this technology?
Is it more efficient than helicopter or ordinary airplane?
Thank's.

Hello
See the website for pictures.
Is there any full scale manned / unmanned airplane based on this technology?

Interesting concept Asian1, it obviously needs some refinement though as I should imagine the drag penalty would be horrendous. I would also imagine that the gyroscopic effect of a large rotational mass along the transverse axis of the plane would aid stability too, provided the torque forces were balanced properly.
