Yesterday after I finished my Tower project (started 3 years ago!!!) I tested my Amiga if its working with the tower open (as always ;-) ) first time did'nt started (black screen, do nothing) and I suspected the blizzard need resiting on the slot (had that some times), after i moved it a little I power up the machine and it all goes well as expected, botted normlaky etc. Then I closed the case and tried again but system didn't boot even when I reopen case moved card etc... I got the PPc in my hands and find a droped capasitor that has taken with it one of the 2 solder point.. I solderit again in directly on the trace of the board but no luck..
any suggestions ??
Also in the case of bying a blizzardppc where can I find one with 040 and 603 @ 240 without scsi ? and what prices to expect ??

did you replace the capacitor? with a new one also there is little fuses on board one may have blown to protect board
most electronic places can fix simple things like that

No I didnt replace it but I checked that at least it is not shorted...
Fuses ? are u sure that exists in blizzard and do you know the location ?
Actually I'm electronic technician but these surface mounted parts its difficult to recognise...
Tommorow I will try to get an replacement capasitor and try again ... but I have no hopes, except if you know where the fuses are to meter if are blown...

you would have to get a hold of a circuit printout theres several surface mounted fuses on the blizzard when my fan shorted it blew one and a local tv repair man fixed it for me

Price range for 040 PPC without scsi is around 90-120UKP.In prices id call fair.
You can find them on ebay.co.uk or amibench.com, but prolly have to be a little patient.

Hi StormLord
can you post here, a picture of the broken trace/capacitor?
Pay attention, to use only very low ESR tantalium capacitor.

@FRamiga
yeah I will try photo at my blizzard and post them tonight but be prepared! this was also my test board for some hack I tested on it and because its very OLD and tortured( from me) board I will not dessolder some test wires I soldered.. so don't panic ;-)
With the photos I will also describe some of the changes I had made just to know .
