And in fact, the first ever cricket international was played between USA and Canada in 1844 in New York, drawing an audience of 10000.

Cricket was the summer sport in the US until it was replaced by baseball in the late 19th C. Apparently many cricket clubs in the US even sponsored baseball matches, mistakenly thinking that the new offshot of Cricket would generate more interest in their sport. How wrong they were, since baseball supplanted cricket. To the extent that most Yanks have probably never heard of cricket :-)

USA play cricket! And they don't half suck at it! (even the netherlands team, who only get to practice on astroturf, would give them a thrashing I recon). I figure that's why they play their own games (baseball, basketball, gridiron, ice hockey) rather than ours (cricket, soccer, gaelic football, curling  ). Because then everybody would see that the so called 'greatest nation on earth' are mostly a bunch of chubby couch potatoes who are not so great (at sport anyway) after all.

No it's not. I do believe that honour goes to the game of curling, followed closely by snooker.

The most boring sport is clearly golf!
But bigship sailing is a close second.
