Cos I'm selling a load of rare promos, singles etc on ebay - used to be a Megadeth collector but alas don't have the space with my move looming...

I'm a pretty big fan of old school Megadeth, though they lost me sometime after Countdown. I'm not much of a metal 'collector' though. If I had more room maybe..

You're not kidding. Back in ~1989 I went to a signing session, before seeing them on the Clash Of Titans tour. I was ~19 and a pretty big fan, that was the first(and only) signing I have ever gone to. We stood in line for about an hour, and just as we got close the store announced Megadeth were taking a break. The 4 of them got up and went in the back room, with 2 girls who looked not a day older than 14. Maybe they were older, but I seriously doubt it or not by much.

Well, about ~45 minutes later they come back out and the signing restarts. We finally get to the front and it's our time to get signatures. The 4 of them all looked completely spaced out, probably all coked up. The brief "Hey guys" went completely unnoticed as they just kind of blanky talked among themselves. My sheet got signed by 3 members, but Marty was just staring into space blankly. I asked "Hey will you sign this please?", not reaction. Mouth semi open, blankly staring into space.

A couple of turds, then again most musicans are turds. These guys were more interested in getting loaded and laid by underage groupies than their fans who stoop in line for hours. Oh well, I love their early music and many of Mustaine's recent interviews have been a riot. Hopefully TSHF will be a good album, as it's the last megadeth album.

Oh yeah, Slayer was 10 times better than Megadeth at Clash of Titans. Megadeth was actually pretty weak, probably still wipepd out on smack and coke from earlier in the day.

That's a horrible generalisation to make. :-(

@red

Wow, I did not know they were THAT crap!
Drugs and society just do not mix very well, do they?

As for the underaged groupies... Well, it is a rock tradition! ;-)

I'd have to agree... it's like saying all Republicans are... nevermind ;-)
