Archaeologists have excavated a cave where John the Baptist may have baptised many of his followers - basing their theory on tens of thousands of shards from small ritual jugs, a stone used for foot cleansing and wall carvings that tell the story of the contemporary of Jesus.

However the cave looks like, to me, that it had been `vandalised ` by early christian tourists who carved crude images on the walls, near the ceiling...

Probably trying to cover some other religion's idols. The christians are good at that.

Never heard of pilgrim vandals?
just have a look at history and see what happened to at that time Christian city Byzantium (or Constantinople or Istanbul) during the first crusade.. (God will reckognise his followers).
